This is a treatment for heavy-metal poisoning such as lead, mercury, and arsenic poisoning, also known as heavy metal burden.
In Chelation therapy, a chemical complex, EDTA is introduced into the blood intravenously. It "captures" free heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium, aluminum and other minerals like calcium. The blood then carries the EDTA with the captured minerals or metals and disposes them together with the urine. Although the Federal Drug Administration has approved the use of EDTA for the above, it has been used to treat other chronic conditions.
The chelation treatment by intravenous infusion is relaxing. During the two-and-a-half to three-hour procedure, patients sit or reclines on a chair in a most comforatable way. You can choose to read, write, sleep, or simply chat around, or listen to soft music.
